First find a trustworthy person who knows the RS inside and out. As has been said, some people try to build a fake car, and that is not what you want. Ownership history is a plus.
LSD is a bonus, but not a deal breaker. If it is a must for you, then you can have one installed later.
I am assuming you are in the states. There is no problem bringing cars into the U.S that are over 25 years old.
Being patient is your best asset. The no stories car, with full documentation are the cars that sell for the top of the market. Zero history, funny looking restamped VIN numbers or engine numbers are the bottom of the market.

It was originally made with aircon but I don't recall it when it was owned here in Melbourne in the mid 2000's- maybe Clyde, the then owner, will clarify that
That said there are some errors still in the description; it does not have and never has had the steel fuel tank. The photos clearly show a plastic one and a plastic one was fitted new and was in the car when it was here
Also it should not have (and I don't think it does unless changed recently) a correct "1973" 915 gearbox. The car was made in 1972 and should still have gearbox number 7830098 fitted to it

Very nice pictures of 101, just wondered if the early M472 first series (build in 72?) did not have a black painted line under the rockers and behind the horn grilles. I would suit the car.

RM Car
Any opinions on value for the RM car? Sounds like engine, gearbox, front lid, quarter panels, and seats have been replaced. Fresh restoration but wonder what else was done.

Car had been in Japan for a long time when I bought it from an ex pat USA citizen who bought the car disassembled and shipped it to the USA had it re assembled
I was not aware of any air con certainly no holes where it used to be but the car was pretty rough in parts so maybe had been removed and holes welded up and covered with copious layers of black paint like the rest of the underbody
Current owner had done a great i restoeation on the car and it was still original thin metal except for one door when I had it

Interesting. The plastic tank is larger (85L vs 63 IIRC) and is incompatible with the factory-optioned air conditioning. The larger tank interferes with the front fan and condenser mount. So when option 559 was ordered 464 was required as well. At least that's the conventional wisdom.
