"This 73 RS was delivered new in Milan, Italy in Feb 1973. The car was originally black on black and a (M472) touring optioned vehicle. It is one of only 62 RS's originally painted black. The options on the car were black leatherette and seats in Perlon -corduroy. In December of 1983 the car was imported to the US by Rick Popper who owned it until 10/8/1984 when he sold it to well known Porsche collector Prescott Kelly. Mr. Kelly showed the car in concours and used it as a drivers ed track car until the original paint failed in 1986. Prescott had Jim Newton restore the car and convert it to lightweight (M471) specs using all genuine factory original parts. The car was so nice he couldnt drive and enjoy it so in September of 1992 he sold it to Ray Alvarado in Los Angeles, CA. July 1993 the RS was sold at auction to an unknown buyer. In 1994 # 618 was advertised in HMN having been painted to the famous white with blue graphics RS color scheme when it was sold to Kerry Morse. Jim Oppenheimer of Toad Hall Racing acquired the car for his personal collection until he sold it in 2000. This RS still has its original engine and gearbox and features very rare original factory light weight parts. The car has been in a private Porsche collection since 2001 and has only been driven occasionally. It is an incredible car to drive and was displayed in the historical collection at the PCA 50th anniversary Porsche Parade 2005. This RS was used in a comparison test with a new RS America at Lime Rock in spring of 1993 that was featured in Porsche Panorama. Photos of the car also were included in PCNAs introductory press kit for the RS America. Car includes all of the ownership and import documents as well as service records."

The car was ordered as a 472 or touring version in light yellow on Pirelli tyres and with no further options. Italian law dictated a steel bootlid instead of the ducktail. Following a road accident the car was rebodied on a 1973 body shell and the car was relocated to South Africa through an immigant owner. The car was purchased in 1990 by us and all RS components unique to the original chassis was stripped from the car and fully restored. The donor car carries the chassis number 9113500104, the original 2.7RS engine number 6630684 and full original RS drivetrain. An original unstamped chassis plate is available. We retained the original donor shell color of Viper Green. In current configuration the car has accumulated additional RS options such as new period Recaros and plastic gas tank and sits on refurbished 7 and 8 inch Fuchs shod with Dunlop R rubber. The car has been totally stripped and restored to concours condition and has not been driven subsequently. Paint is perfect, no chips. Engine was stripped to long block and refurbished. It carries all the correct RS fittings including original 019 MFI pump. Heat exchangers and exhaust is new stainless steel factory fittings. All trim is new, even with new H4s. Original aluminium brakes, rollbars, correct small RS steering wheel, 160mph speedo, 7200rpm revcounter. Interior is new, carpets correct, new hoodlining, seats covered in Blackwatch cloth. The side stripes are in black positive decal and an extra ducktail is included with the car. Otherwise the car is immaculate and ready to roll. Many of the original RS cars have been rebodied over time so this should not detract from the desirability of such a car."

In 1978 it passed to a family who kept the Porsche until recently.
The car was not driven and kept in a dry storage facility between 1990 and 2000.
All of the original paperwork, including the old cardboard logbook comes with the beast.
Rare matching numbers still retains the red fan shroud and Bosch mechanical Fuel Injection.
NO OIL LEAKS!"
