Tourist del 66 912.
Looks like a Great Gatspy ride, all decked out with white shoes! Always hated red interiors - except in a 911 and then red is my favorite!!!
That car is awesome!
Beautiful morning here so got the shorty's out for a back to back drive.
2? You have TWO with red interior. AWESOME.
… i really love this shot of my tangerine machine having a service (carby jet failed badly … no harm done - thanks Autohaus Hamilton)

Here is my '71 911 E. Matching #s all around, history and maintenance very well documented, 80% original paint and a few 'upgrades' made by previous owners that I plan to change (S front bumper, wheel arches, mirrors...). But I'll definitively keep the wheels :-)
Found it thanks to this great community 1.5y ago.
Thanks for watching,

Lovely weather, good friends, good food and the finish line in Biarritz, on the west french coast (Pays Basque).
Hallo Jack.
Schöner rsr! replika oder orginal??
Gruß Harry
Hallo Harry,

Popowitz, don't hesitate!
You will love the whole building process, even if sometimes it's long, expensive, frustrating and endless! But when you go to your garage and you see your beauty, quiet and silent, you touch it and speak to her, before leaving for a short or long drive, you will know it was the right thing to do. All my wishes for your project and don't forget to write a threan from the beginning.

Made a trip to Stuttgart for the first time! The reason was a show. A show with Cesar Millan, the famous dog whisperer. My wife is crazy about him and his TV show on NatGeo Wild. And after thousands hours spent watching him learning people how to manage their dogs, we decided to watch him live on stage! A fantastic moment I shared with my lovely wife.
But, that's not it, of course…
In the afternoon, she agreed to join me for a visit at the Porsche Museum. 1 to 1, the ball in the middle of the field...
The exposition is never the same and I was pleased to see a 2.8 RSR (R?), the Porsche I love the most, «pink pig» and plenty of great cars.
These two «shows» deserved the 5 hours drive from Switzerland. Especially with some legal speeds over 200 km/h on the german highway:p

That is the Forgotten Highway, state highway 43 between Stratford and Taumaranui, central north island, New Zealand. There is an unsealed section in the middle which is not too bad to run on if dry but the drive in and out is a fantastic cambered third / forth flowing sealed road. There is a town in the middle called "Whangamomona" (pronounced Fong ah mom on ah) which is in its own little world and was declared a republic some time ago by the locals and a goat was voted in as mayor. A night there at the Whangamomona hotel is an experience in itself.
I like to get the idea that someday I can kick some of the world with the car. I've been taking notes for 2 years! This place looks funny. What about the goat is serious? Here we have many rulers, can they be family? JAJA (excuse this humor) but comes from a burned society ...
Back to the topic! San google is making things easier for me.
Thanks for the information and for that great description of the road. Words count when transmitting sensations!

The car with green script is a well known RHD first 500 series RS, chassis #348, a truly wonderful car that's still used as it should be with plenty of enthusiasm......the car with black script is also a pretty special rep built with many original RS parts and sports a very potent Neil Bainbridge built 2.8 motor......huge fun chasing these guys around for eight days in my old mongrel which is exactly what the car was built for.

Good looking 911 Targa that you have in there.
May I ask you where you made the overhaul of the engine and transmission?
I saw your rally movie on youtube, and it runs smoothly. Congratulations.
I can imagine, once changed, its hard to go back on its original color.
If one of these days you decide to go back, follow the original painting technique used by Porsche in the 70s.

OOPs, sorry of the above post. Thought I was just checking out how to add a photo and it got sent.
This is the 1970 Targa I rebuilt into just what I wanted for myself. To be driven by myself for my enjoyment so please no flamers. It took 2 years and it is just what I had in my minds eye and I just wanted to show it off a little.
Original light yellow color with the only part not repainted was the inside of the of the front hood. Some of the modifications from stock include a high reving MFI 250 hp 7R case all done with squirters, 2.5 liter short stroke, Pauter rods, with std/std 66 mm counterweighted crank, Carrera oil pump, lightweight ASSE flywheel with Kennedy engineering clutch. Mechanical fuel injection from my old 69S rebuilt for the 2.5 liter displacement, billet distributor and MSD. Alloy swing arm conversion with sport Bilsteins.Carrera front fender oil cooler, European headers with super traps, FRP fenders front and rear and lots of other little things I like.

oops sorry again
Just fiberglass bumpers front and rear.....obviously the original front and rear steel fenders
Very nice... but with those killer chairs that car needs a rear storage compartment in place of the back seats.
Complete front fender oil cooler and lines were from Elephant Racing. The fit was very nice and factory help was terrific when I called several times during the installation with questions.
In the 1970 911 there were twin battery boxes in each front fender. The location of the oil cooler in the passenger fender placed it about one inch behind the battery box. I did not want to just cut off the battery box because the mount for the thru the grill fog lights depends on the battery box. I was able to drill a 4 inch hole in the front and rear of the box and place an aluminum tube thru the box to supply air to the oil cooler. I then filled the box with spray in foam to encased the alloy tube . That gave a waterproof box and a nice firm inner wall where the box meets the trunk area. The air flows directly onto the oil cooler thru the tube.
As I said, lots of special mods to get the appearance and performance I was after.
Like cutting the front and rear R bumpers into thirds to get the proper fit. The R bumpers were for short wheelbase cars so in the rear they intruded into the fender well about an inch. as they would on any LWB car. Lots of surgery to get right. I had some practice as they were the same style bumpers I put on my 1969 911S vintage race car years ago.
Here is a picture of the lines going to the front.
It may not be visible but the lines are not smooth on the outside but rather have a finned outer contour. This really aids in the cooling as wellAttachment 449642Attachment 449642.

Mark
Hi Mark
I joined the Early 911 Registry some 18-20 years ago when I raced the 69 911S. Still have the T shirt and window sticker that they gave for free when I joined. I suppose I am still a junior member because I spend time in my garage not on the computer much. Built or restored lots of vintage race and road cars ( Brabham, Lotus, Tiga sports 2000, Porsche 356,911 and 914/6 ) Therefore very few posts and I think that's how one gets higher on the pecking order. I have bought several parts from adds on the site. Also gained a lot of insight and knowledge from the website. So when I finished the Targa I was so happy with the finished product and how it drove.....just like I imagined it would....I thought I would share it with the group.
I do not have any pics of the air flow to the oil cooler. It takes air from the foglight opening in the front pass side bumper . Tried to take a few pics but really not much light there to get a good pic.
Don't forget the whipped cream and peanuts

Absolutely, Terry. I’ve been a bit out of touch, where in Vermont?
Your car looks terrific, by the way, congratulations on a great build. I think it’s the first flared 911R fenders that I’ve seen and it’s wonderful. The motor sounds to be a real animal. Now, fill up those front fenders! ;o]
Hope to see you on the road next spring/summer!

Perfect. I lived in Woodstock. I used to tear up those roads with my Spyder.
Loving my 73 hot rod with a 3.2 motor transplant complete with EFI/ITB conversion and original to the car factory sport seats. Of course I couldn’t leave well enough alone and sourced a set of GTS repro sport seats as well and had this cool looking Scottish blue tartan fabric installed for a pop of color to an otherwise all black interior to change up the look from time to time.
