Incorrect later seats that seem quite worn / torn for the stated mileage which claims to be supported by documentation ?

1382 had an aluminum case. Perhaps someone harvested the original seats from this for another car and installed these seats to make do.
I will try to pop in to see the car at the weekend — just out of “academic interest”.

Steve, the seats may be "wrong", but they don't necessarily have to be newer. This is the “Recaro Ideal S” model. This seat was produced from the end of 1971. The letherette looks like the material used from 1972. The rails are definitely newer (black ones).

Fair enough. Thanks for pointing that out. Listing says Sports Seats L&R as an M-option so seems little double what should be there.
If the incorrect to original spec seat pair are indeed older it could explain why they are in worn shabby condition for a car with the mileage stated on the listing.
Don’t want to focus only on its seats just they jumped out as an unfortunate change when I skimmed the listing. Seats are bolt in so perhaps a pair could be sourced although the appropriate double lockers are probably not cheap. A (part of) one year seat type mean not that common. Sports seats only fitted to subset of 911 during that brief period too. Perhaps not that easy or cheap to find replacements like the AWOL originals? That’s if a new owner want it back to as left factory.
As context RHD 73 RS Tourings are uncommon.
Only about 100 were made across all three RS series (of which I seem to recall roughly 60 were the important first- and second- series RS examples that were made in the special way necessary such that could be weighed and used as evidence to gain homolgation). The one listed is a third series.
By the way it’s not as if the first owner ticked a box to get them sport Recaro since the UK importers standard spec for 73 S was those Sports seats. Albeit headrests were still in 73 a paid M-option extra here. Don’t think that was always the case in some other country markets they spotts seets were standard in 911 S in 73? As a C16 EG spec 73 RS M472 Touring (even a relatively late example) it would have got the Recaro sports (not comfort) seats because the M472 (broadly speaking) got the equivalent 73 S interior trim.Being the most expensive version when new an M472 Touring RS were close to double the price of a contemporary E type Jaguar here. A c12 Etype jag retailed at £2785 in May
of 73 and a RS Touring retailed at £6036 on the same magazine kit. Both. Before taxes etc. So that’s why the sole importer for GB raised the specification compared to the German market equivalent with some things like sports seats being bundled in the British standard spec — a point the Porche Cars GB made sure to type on the local price lists at the time. A Carrera RS Sport ( note in the magazine it was correctly called Sport not “lightweight” ) was cheaper retailing at £5556. Despite being cheaper only about three handfuls of these sold in RHD across all three series ( or about two handfuls if counting the first two RS series) which shows that in fact the much maligned sales and marketing people were right that they wouldn’t have sold enough in stripped out form — the RS programme to get homolgation would have been a humiliating failure for Porsche right up to the recently appointed non-family member CEO who’d pushed it though despite resistance from VG. Imagine the consequences for him if falling woefully short of the essential volume sold and failing. VG sales operation wasn’t just Porsche it was a 50 :50 venture with VW so might have had wider ripples.
This is a third series m472 Touring made after the 500 plus 500 homologation chassis examples were complete as can be seen from a quick glance of number of details on photo . As I’ve said before despite the perception today and the misappropriation of the term lightweight to mean just M471 rather than the early chassis circa 1000 that were intrinsically light it’s not the M471 Sport it’s the the Touring conversion after the fact that got it over the 500 line — indeed to great surprise the typically motorsport approach of careful reading of the FIA rules to exploit loophole to permit the lighter-weight homolgation chassis on combination with the Touring equipment being what the market attractive is actually factually what got the programmed well past the essential sales-volume line despite being more expensive. When it actually mattered back in the day ( not today’s post hoc rationalisation and misunderstanding of events ) buyers paid about £480 more. That approaching 20 percent of a whole e-type retail fundamental just for the Touring equipment package. Despite the higher price buyers back in the day bought hugely more of them in with the combo of homolgation lightweight chassis core but the more usable equipment. Classic market seems incapable of the recognising first second-series RS distinctions over ( with perhaps exception of a few of) the third series RS. Values the the M471 spec that ironically buyers in 72/3 found sufficiently an unattractive offer despite being £480 less here it would have resulted in total failure of the high-profile and contentious RS programme against its vital sole goal of getting homologation!

it is 9113600797 The tell tail is the yellowish sticker(?) on the rev counter (and some reused photos)

Chassis number plate on front slam panel kinda tells the story . . .
