Out for a little drive.....

Friday at Magny-cours F1 racetrack.

I damaged my right front brake disc and caliper on saturday, it happened at the end of the long straight just before "Adelaide" (turn number 5), Meaning from 220KPH to 60KPH. While starting to brake, I felt the car rear going up, sliped gently by right, then slowly by left, and make a nice drift at about 150PH for 150 meters, finally stopping at less than a hand distance of the wall. I started the engine again, went back on the track, and try to brake again at the "Nurburgring" curves....I could not handle my steering wheel because of the vibrations.
The diagnosis is I must change the front discs (both) and the front right brake caliper.

That is very strange. Did you feel them fading on any turns before? Could a small stone have gotten between the pad and disk? Glad you and the car are both alright.
Thanks Max. No pre-feeling. It happened suddenly (at the highest speed on the track). Never had this before. I will dismount the entire braking system, as I beleive the disc/caliper are the consequence and not the origin. It seems the pads are all ok. Very weired.
I had good fun on friday anyway. more than 2 hours of racing.
Xavier
Glad you're OK, Xavier!
Gerry, those Cibies are perfectly placed, most others are too high. Don't go changing a thing.
I went to my mechanic in Bière (Switzerland) to see my new Glaverbel glasses… But what I discover in the garage was two RS first series!
The yellow ones...
The first one is No22 and the other on the lift is No87. Both Touring models. Not so frequent to find two beauties in the same place. Should mean my mechanic get some skills with classic Porsche!
The orange one is a nice 2,2 S.

fantastic...........and both originally Swiss delivered cars. Great to see.
Exactly! The license plate number on 0022 is quite clever.:)
Tells us about the Glaverbel glass please, thanks.
