Not sure if it adds much, but I sold 9113601108 pre-restoration (when it was still White/Blue) to the gentleman from Santa Barbara in late 2011 or early '12 if memory serves. It was my first exposure to an RS and one of my favorite drives in any car ever. I can only imagine how nice it must be to hustle along nowQuote:

As I said above somewhere in this thread, I have seen it . As fine a restoration can come. I saw it over 10 + years ago.

900+commission was very high IMHO
A non Matching engine (but correct number from 1973) would be ok..a 76 re-stamped engine is a BIG defeat IMHO
Although I was not in the room when it went off, I must say the car looked very fine to my eye. Agree with other posters that the non matching motor must have been a drag. But I suppose the other way of looking at might be to think about how long ago a 900 hammer price would have been seen as incredible. Maybe only 18 months ago? In other words, the high bid still seems like a lot of money to me.Quote:

When 1 years ago a white/blu Lightweight was sold at an auction for 1.2mil$ it was exactly 1mil€ (At that time 1€=1.2$)
In term of $ now 900$ is less than 1.2mil$
But
In term of €, it's the same price....900 is a very high bid! (+commission!)
And don't forget that the white/blu Lightweight was better than this Yellow..
