I remember the local Porsche mechanic registering a fair amount of displeasure during the clutch replacement in our car in 1994, when he then noticed none of the fuel line recalls had been done during the first owner's time with the car. It was then a new purchase to me and I wanted to go thru it all and be safe from a fiery end. Especially since a friend lost his to a fire that took his 914, his garage, his roomates car , and nearly their house. At 2:00 AM.
Mechanic checked the lines, and said they were beginning to show a compromised state, and strongly suggested replacing, but was not happy about the procedure......it went off fine and he replaced with the good stuff, not the plastic o.e. lines, which I believe he said were still available from Porsche at that time. My choice.
I sleep alot better now at night....
Here is one to watch;

I located the info from when he purchased it;

Looks like a good car, the owners done a nice job restoring it. These are getting very hard to find in this condition....it should bring BIG bucks.
WOW, what a transformation during the last owners care !
The poor old girl looked a little bit scruffy when he got it from the original owner. It always amazes me how one man's 100,000 miles can look so different from another man's.
The reason we have wrecking yards full of low mileage cars that look like total has-beens. Used up in appearance, then something slight breaks and the car's a gonner. Off to the boneyard, or if a good quality or desirable Porsche, hopefully off to the restorer.
So glad this one got the proper love , and now here today in the form it is. It should bring VERY good money.

34100- reserve not met
That's 2 cars recently on ebay that have not sold. I believe the market has spoken.
I think this latest non sale is somewhat representative of the 6 market currently. I personally inspected the silver car that was on ebay a while back and while it was a pretty car, it has its share of issues, not the least of which is that it was not restored according to original cosmetic specs and the gaps are atrocious. (As Raj mentioned, most buyers/shops don't even know all of the small details that these cars are marked by).
I believe 40k would be all the money right now for a good car. Wish that were not the case but I guess if one is not selling, it doesn't matter.
