You lucked out since you would be farther ahead just laying out the $50,000- $60,000 for one already restored.

If serial number 914-6 number 33 was produced in 11/1969 I am thinking my 914-6 number 131 might have been made in 12/69 how many cars did Porsche build in a month?
I prefer this excuse: >> There's nobility in saving the bad ones. << (DigitalK)
My -6 is a bit of a restoration project. Nothing terrible. Just the usual endless list of small items. I'm thinking there's some redemptive karma in this endeavor, having been personally responsible for totalling one of these in my youth.

I do not intend to ever buy another project. Life is too short and there is NO RETURN on the "time you finance". Dollars won't buy time lost.

You are all correct about, return and time, my intentions were very short term, and Okay I admit flipping it after made at least drivable..
Time marches on, quicker than projects for sure..
This beast would nicely complement any teen dreamer's collection. What an incredible factory job.

Wow this thread is huge, I do not know if 914-6 cars are very collectible based on the size of this thread.
I am a 914-6 nut for many years now. I have 1970 cars:
#162 restored with 2.7L RS spec
#200 undergoing restoration
#1800 rotisserie restored with a 3.0L engine
#162 was built in January 1970
