Another factory 6, $75,000 ask. No affiliation, but response to several back asking about current prices.

These cars continue to appreciate; I drove mine recently and its just amazing. In many ways, I prefer it to the 67S.
The looks I find incredible. So simple, and so modern. Bahaus.
Thanks for reviving this thread - I thought it was lost !
Here is a little update on my Texas Orange Pip that I bought unseen in post #814.
The car came from Lubbock Texas and was driven to LA and then arrived in Sydney in February 2014.
Straight to my mechanics for a detailed checkover and registration.
Since then many $$$ spent on old mechanical maintenence issues, however the body/shell is in excellent condition and my mechanics can't find any rust/crash evidence.
I have been very fortunate in the 914-6 lucky dip !:D
I will turn attention to the bodywork after I return from RR 5 - that is if my bank manager is still on speaking terms with me !
Yes,they are still out there !
Come to think of it,this is my third car in a row that I have bought and none of them were actively for sale at the time.
Some pics from several months ago at a local German car show .....
Rich,I will send you & Roger a separate e mail.
Cheers,
Dennis. :)
some more .....
Very nice Dennis.
Did you ever track down the 914/6 that Porsche brought to Australia for evaluation? Is it still around?
Ryan,
When I started looking for a -6 Grant said that car was in the Brookvale area and in pieces.
I haven't had occasion to ask about it again.
Not thinking about adding to the fleet again are we ??
Cheers,
Dennis :)
No. Just thought it was a cool car/story.
Ryan,
My brother's first job was as an Articled Law Clerk for firm of Solicitors in Sydney in late '60s, whilst he completed his Law Degree. His employer (also a Business Partner of Pat Burkes) bought a brand new RHD Porsche 914-6 circa 1969 from Via Hamiltons in Melbourne . I was led to believe it was Imported BUT converted to RHD by Duttons in Melbourne.
I remember seeing the car in the flesh but haven't seen it around for a couple of decades.
I think it was the only RHD Porsche 914-6 that was sold "As New" in Australia.

Thanks Peter, I think this must be the same car I have heard about previously.
