    1972 911T Raspberry red VALUE?

Please help us establish a reasonable insurance value to this 1972 Raspberry Red 911T

My sister has owned this car for 30+ years. She has been the only driver of the last 55000 miles. We will be getting a new appraisal soon but, we are not sure what the rare color adds to the value. We appreciate your thoughts.
Lately prices have been hard to track, my thinking is in the area of $100,000 but I don't really know. I'm not sure what if any extra value should be added for this unique color.
Sunroof and lights, also premium leather seats, 65000 original miles, all matching numbers, no rust.

The car has it's original paint with all the little chips, it has always been garaged and properly cared for, it's in super condition.
This car is not for sale.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

If I owned that car I would insure it for 100k due to:

    low mileage
    unusual color
    long term ownership

You likely have one of a handful if not the only one left in that color in original paint

That was a color offered in 72, but the car has a load of options that probably put it above a 911E in selling price. For one, the spoiler/bumper is very rare on a 72T, as it was new to the S that year. If indeed original paint, with that bumper being as-delivered, I'm quite sure that is a "one of one" car. As such, I think $125K is a better number for insurance purposes. It is essentially irreplaceable.

I had a 72 S in exactly that color, I hated the color at the time, today it looks incredible. Beautiful and very special car.

There are several 72 only things going on with that car like the oil fill door on the quarter and that "S" bumper among other things. I would insure it for 125k all day long if that is the original paint. I have a 914 that is the same color from the factory. One of three known in that color. I dig it.

. . . My sister has owned this car for 30+ years. She has been the only driver of the last 55000 miles. We will be getting a new appraisal soon but, we are not sure what the rare color adds to the value. We appreciate your thoughts . . .
    Another 'T' --- this one, a '73 . . . for comparison

Not an 'oil door' . . . . and in a oh-so-charming shade of 'Birth Control Beige,' but --- lower miles

Pitched on eBay, where it went up to $120k about a year-and-a-half, ago

I would take note of this car's treatment after it was found --- and especially the subsequent auction activity . . .

    . . . 49 bids

    Now. Ask yourself. What would a Sloan (http://sloancars.com/). . . or a Road Scholar's (http://roadscholars.com/) . . . or a Paul Russell (http://paulrussell.com/rSales/) . . .

    . . . sell a car like this for?

Bruce Canepa recently commented that he thought that prices of every decent Porsche have doubled over the last year. But what does he know? (http://www.canepa.com/)

Everybody has their opinion when it comes to color, condition, mileage --- or duct tape . . . but . . .

. . . when have you seen --- or will you see . . . another car like it?

    And what would you pay?

And what would that losing bidder for the Minnesota Car pay?

    Now --- factor in . . . .
    *..a thorough/thoughtful/professional detailing . . .
    *..a well-advertised auction . . .
*..at a suitable venue --- Pebble, say

And don't forget an open bar!

EC in Cali has an 18k original miles 72 T coupe with fewer options for sale for 175k. I think the earlier posted 125k is spot on.
