Thread: Deck Lid Sript Restoration

    Deck Lid Script Restoration

The restoration of my 911S MY69 is almost completed (hopefully).

Few things left, the deck lid script, both "PORSCHE" and "911S", is one of that.

Any advice on how to restore/refurbish the deck lid script?

    Thanks in advance

    Oscar

That last one says it all, I think you'll find as soon as you fit a new speed nut the post will snap.

Not especially impressed with the ones I got from Porsche a couple years ago. Finish is more "anodized" compared to your old ones. Those sold in the US seem to be better. I thought they were all repros, but in this link it says genuine???? http://www.sierramadrecollection.com...71-p25625.html

The "new" nos Porsche letters don't have the right finish, your best bet, buy'em one by one, or try to get a complete set off of ebay, really nice original sets seem hard to come by lately, but always a lot of old loose letters for sale. Put a set together that way if need be

There are better repros made in Europe than the ones sold through Porsche Classic. Try these guys:

    Best decklid lettering I've seen.

Thanks! That´s the ones I was thinking about. Would have been interesting to see some detail pics of the decals from CSP installed.
