    I imagine the seller is trying to capitalize on the current sentiment that the SSIs made before the Dansk takeover are of superior quality. At 2k that's a few hundred more than the new SSIs by Dansk

    Timing is everything. I sold several orig alum deck lids for $750-$1000.

    That's for sure. I bought a plastic RS gas tank at a swap meet a number of years ago for $75. I sold it a number of years later for $400 and was quite happy. They cost a bit more now.

    first observation; @ $2K these would sell quickly over on the bird. anyone buying a set for under a grand in todays market is receiving a gift.
    second, and more importantly, the seller is Geoff Wattiker who has used more than one handle on Pelican and been banned each time. (RedDucatti750 comes to mind) IIRC, he had a presence here for a time. at least one other ebay ID was Chappel Hill motorsports which he ditched (or ebay cancelled) after too many negatives. looks like he's been able to keep his nose clean for a while, but...
