    Factory Photos of Early Engines

    Greetings all,

I am looking for factory photos of early engines. Most interested in 1970/71 at the moment, but show me what you have.

    Aaron -
Great idea! Note that the alternator housing is already discolored (corroded?) and the valve cover nuts and other fasteners don't appear to be yellow zinced.

A thread covering a 70 factory tour with photos showing a couple S engines on a bench.

Also somewhere there is a thread with black and white photos from the Revs Institute, covering a 1967 factory tour and S engine install

Not that it matters but Aaron's pic is an early SC engine. I believe the V/C nuts are yellow, just a lighter shade.
As for the fan housing; it's not corroded. That's EXACTLY how they are supposed to look when new.
Ugly and crude are two words that come to mind.

Exactly, I'm looking for how the engines left the factory

    ???
That IS how they left the factory.

    2.2 and 2.4 didn't look much different. I have a brand new 2.2E longblock.

I know. I'm looking for Earlier engines that show these types of details. There is a great sales brochure for 72 or 73 with a closeup of a S or RS engine. You can see the paint marks on the throttle bodies.
Here is a pic of a recently refurbished 2.2E throttle body I completed. I think I have the details dialed in on them, but I'm always looking for improvement.

The engines in the sales brochures are usually a year behind. The 73 has a great pix of a 72S engine, one I've used as a model for decades. G.Led

Great thread, but these pics don't come easy, wish I had something to contribute.
