    Leather for steering wheel

I just bought a kit to redo the leather on my '73 steering wheel. I got it from Classic 9 Leather Shop, owned by Robert Budd: http://classic9leathershop.com

I know there are other suppliers out there. But I've seen too many inconsistent reports on ALL of them, and admittedly didn't find anything on Classic 9. So I took a shot.

I haven't done the job yet. But, I have to say, the leather is probably the nicest leather I have felt in a long time - I mean seriously a top quality feel and look. Also, it is very thin - which seems to be something highly desired, and not normally seen in the kits out there. I will report my progress when I'm done. ... oh, and it has that perfect leather smell.

Below are links to two threads on this board about redoing steering wheels in case you are interested.

Mike, here are a couple things to help you out:

    1. Fold each end of the lace into a single “bunny ear.” ...
    2. Cross the bunny ears so that they form an “X” in the air.
    3. Loop the bottom bunny ear over and through the top bunny ear. ...
    4. Pull the bunny ears out to the side away from the shoe.
