Porsches By the Bay 2016 - Pictures from 11/20 in Miami

This is the first time I've been to this event, held by PCA. I was pleasantly surprised that there were some nice long hoods, and various other air-cooled cars, including 914s and 356s. I will try to group them in the event anyone has a particular interest.

It's rare to see any vintage Porsches in South Florida, much less seeing this many outside of California. This may not happen again, as it was at the Mandarin Oriental, and I was told they plan on building on this location.

This first group is mostly my car, a 1968S. I arrived very early and shared the quiet time on the grass with a very nice 964 Carrera Cup car.

    NOPDK, and a few others

The first two are of various cars including a '69 912 that had a for sale sign inside, and the second group is of one of our own... some of you may recognize the car. Very nice, and I thought he'd win some sort of a trophy for his build in the modified category, but didn't happen.

    1965 Slate Gray 911

This car was spotless. It won a judges' award, 2nd or 3rd place, losing out to a beautiful '55 356 Continental coupe that was probably the favorite of the gathering. Unfortunately, most of the owners were no where to be found, and therefore I couldn't learn much about most of them.

    1955 Continental Coupe

This was the '55 Continental that everyone, including me, really liked. The color was fantastic, even under the direct, beating Miami sun. It won the judges' award and the peoples choice award. I know many folks here have said PCA concourse are really "clean car" competitions. This certainly were clean.

    More Air Cooled Stuff

These are a few of the other air cooled cars that made the show. Both 914s won awards from what I recall. The gentleman who owned the White '87 Carrera was very nice, and had purchased the car to drive across country and back with his son... which they did.

    964 Carrera Cup etc

The color white is popular in Miami (still) and tails of all sorts were all the rage (still). The 964 Carrera Cup car was pretty special, and got a lot of attention.

Some of the newer stuff and the crowded lot by the end of the day

This 991 turbo was a unique color, which I don't recall seeing before... was a bit lighter I thought than Gulf Blue. The 993 Turbo had some RUF gear on it, but I wouldn't know if it is a RUF car. Also saw many 993s and 964s with all sorts of adornment.
