Numbered bits of 71 911 T on German eBay... apparently ...

...it is 911100807 (or at least some bits of number-stamped metal cut from it):

Not sure what the rights and wrongs of this eBay listing might be but suspect that it varies by country...

Folks who diligently track early 911 vin #s might be interested in knowing about the listing and the contents being offered in German eBay for their records.

Some 72 paperwork among other items from this lister.

Certainly not mine, absolutely no affiliation

Looks like the current owner purchased the car from Beverly Hills car club?
Or at least I hope thats all it is. Since its an American car I wouldnt be surprised if something else is going on.

These bits and bobs presumed to be remnants of 911100807 are probably in Germany now based on the eBay listing location so maybe question is what do the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA)- who I think are the German Federal Motor Transport Authority - make of only vin metal sheet and other factory number-stamped parts cut from a car being sold?

Is it any different to sale of say the whole stripped shell in the view of the relevant national vehicle authorities be it USA or Germany or eventual buyers country?

What is the view of the relevant authorities if these number-stamped parts were to be welded into some early 911 shell by the winning eBay bidder or someone else down the line?

I'm not in the market but intrigued about the situation.

No engine or transmission so not being sold as full matching numbers 71 T

This is a Ddk car restored. 2.2S and sold for big money when complete.

So what's the difference? Where do you draw the line between restored and replica?
