3 prong hub caps refurbed By Harvey Weidman

    Hi,

Selling these 3 prong (6mm) hub caps restored by Harvey. They do not match my unrestored Fuchs wheel that are on the car. If you have a set of restored Fuchses by Harvey you know the superb quality of his restorations. Difficult to get the color right of the picture but you got the idea.
    Asking $200,- shipped.

Are these correct for a 67S and is the finish OEM correct? It appears a little more glossy than what I usually see. Thanks, Jim H.

Probably a little more lossy than original 50 yrs old hub caps but they do match Harvey Weidman's restored Fuchs wheels.

I have never seen Harvey finish caps with a gloss clear unless requested. The silver looks like it would match his wheels pretty good but someone added the gloss or requested it. Some fine steel wool will take care of the gloss and they should be good to go.

I have only requested to match my wheels he did for me and I definitely did not do anything to them. I got them back from Harvey as they are now. I do not want to try paint thinner on them, it is what it is.

Very fine steel wool used lightly will get rid of the gloss and like I said the silver looks like a good match. Just trying to help with a potential buyer.

I have used fine steel wool with wax to soften Silver powder coating on fan shrouds for my 356.

Not to hijack this thread, I have a set of four, NOS in the box, 901 361 032 00, which will be listed in the for sale section in a few minutes. Photos may help deciding gloss question.
