Question RE Proper Fasteners for the metal threshold

Once again, I respectfully seek the input of the scholars regarding minutia for finishing '68 SWT #0001.

If someone could offer photographs of their correct metal door thresholds and the fasteners, I would be very appreciative.

The Parts Manual shows 10 fasteners in each metal threshold, and identifies the fasteners as cheese head: 2,9 x 9,5. However, the "cheese head" fasteners currently available seem to be awfully tall.

I'm trying really hard to get this car back together in the most correct/original form possible, and I would really appreciate any assistance that the scholars might provide. To be honest, the minutia drives me nuts, but it seems necessary to make the best possible effort, given the historical aspect of the car.

Again, and as always, thank you in advance for your help. I genuinely appreciate the value of the Early S Registry members.

In the PET, section 807-01, I see what looks like the threshold strips, and the fastener looks like it is "oval-head sheetmetal screw" "2,9 X 9,5". It calls out 20 of them.
    Hope this helps.

thank you, Bob. this is very helpful. i had taken a different approach, placing the coding from the Parts Manual into a google search. that's how i got the "cheese head" descriptor.

would it be possible for someone to share photos of the thresholds in their car?

    thanks, again.

I went through the whole thread, but there was no detail re thresholds.

Does anyone have photos showing fasteners?

Mike and I spoke on the phone and the question here is really about LWB vs SWB and S/S-trim cars (I think). From 1969 on, the aluminum threshold plates are attached with plastic rivets as seen here:

I've got messages out to a couple of the usual gurus. Anyone else with an original SWB car want to chime in?

Thank you. When I began this project, I was sure that all of the answers were in the parts manual ... But this one was really not clear.

Metal 2,9 x 9,5 oval heads seem to make sense, although it's clear that '69 changed to plastic rivets.

This makes sense, but there are a couple of gurus who have not yet responded. I am hoping for a consensus.

I have seen early '68L's with screws for the thresholds like '67S's and later ones with plastic rivets . We know that the '68 was a transitional car in many ways .
