advice on removing lower engine latch

For some reason I have been stymied by the removing the engine lower catch plate. I have tried rotating and tilting it many different ways and it just doesn't quite clear the slot to come out.

I swear I had it out before, but I'll be damned if I can remove it now.

Any advice or tricks welcome. Thanks in advance.

Took mine out 6 months ago. Just disconnected the cable, removed the two bolts and do not remember any difficulty getting the lower latch out. Any chance of damage that could have made the opening smaller?

Certainly possible. Feels like the factory schutz on the back engine wall is just enough to keep it from clearing the gap.

Good advice. It is so close but not quite and feels like a brain teaser. Will try again.

Bob was right. I returned to it a few days later and it took a little pressure here and there to get it out. Putting it back in required a 45 degree turn and it dropped right in.
    Thx
