Porsche replacement oil tank for 1971

I replaced my oil tank with a new Porsche classic oil tank. My engine is newly rebuilt. Upon first start up engine running and oil pressure fine. I topped up oil while running and have now put in 9 quarts of oil and the dipstick shows no oil. Im using same dip stick. This seems like a lot of oil and none of it showing on dip stick. So I'm wondering if these new oil tanks hold more oil. As well while building up oil pressure with CDI un plugged there was an unusual amount of gurgling sound from oil tank not sure if this is normal as I have never done this before.
    Thanks John

If you're starting from a rebuilt engine you'll need an extra quart or two to fill up all the oil passages that are dry from the rebuild process.
