    Incorrect distributor question 2.4S

    Greetings

Starting to clean the distributor (too HOT to do much else in Tx) and It appears I have an incorrect distributor installed for a 2.4S engine. The installed distributor is : 0 231 184 001 which I believe is appropriate for a 74 2.7 CIS.
    I believe the spec distributor is 0 231 169 005 (010).

What are differences in advance curves, implications between 184 vs 169?

Also, I am trying to remove points plate to clean weights etc, I know I am supposed to turn plate 1/4 turn CCW and it should lift out.
It rotates freely CCW but then stops and looks like it still needs to rotate a bit more prior to being to lift it up.

    advice?

    Charles

    Yep, screws were out
Plate rotated smoothly to almost 1/4 turn then got tight
More force applied and it rotated to where it cleared detects and came out

Having removed points plate I see on a post that holds the high tension spring, the plastic bit that the spring nests in is broken.

I have not found that the part is available - OK to run as is?
