Thread: front compartment finish

    front compartment finish

Was there any stoneguard or undercoating material in the luggage compartment (under fuel tank, around battery boxes, etc.) from the factory? Obviously, I'm
interested in the topside, not the undercoated pan.

    Thanks, Scott

Ther was stoneguard material on the inside firewall, on the floor pan and on parts of the side wall around the battery boxes but it was put on in what appeared to be a random manner from car to car which I have never seen extend beyond the back of the fuel tank and it gradually decreased in thickness the futher back from the front you went. The quality of paint after that was not the same as the body but more harsh and certainly not gloss more like matt/satin combo.

Hopefully when you get the photos they will give you an idea.

I will find the negatives and get some reprints as I sent the last lot to the originator of this post. Its better if you have the real photo rather than scans I think.
