Mounted my driving lights with "no-cut" brackets

Well, I finally got around to mounting the NOS vintage Bosche lamps taht I bought a few months ago. They are slightly larger than the Hella's, but much cheaper
Im still not used to the look of them. Its funny how you can love a modification on everyone elses car, but be unsure of it when you do it to your own car. I think its going to take some time to get used to.
I made my own brackets to mount them on because the mounting is different from the hella lamps and I didnt want to cut the horn grills. I used 1" wide stainless strap material to make them from. Pleanty sturdy and totally reversable. Opinions????

    Very nice

That is how the factory should have done it. I never understood the need to cut the horn grills, you have proven that it can be done without the butcher method.

Looks great, now I want to do it. Shawn.

Dave..no need to feel any guilt trips. They look fine, if you want thru the grille lights. Now it's my "confession" time...I like the early 911 lines better without added lamps. A personal taste thing, for sure. But even back in '74, when I bought my car, I was sort of turned off by the through the grille factory fogs. Probably because I liked the lower bumper mounted fogs of earlier models...not sure why, to tell the truth. But, since I liked the rest of the car, I bought the car despite the lights. I kept them on, because the factory put them there. Is it just me, or is it only lately that the through the grille lights have become "hot"?

Good eyes Jared. No wire yet because I havent found a source for the old Bosche bulbs. They are approx 1" dia bases and I cant seem to find a supplier. Any suggestions?

    Alternate source for repro lights.

I was thumbing through a Hot VWs and noticed that several companies sell repro 118 style lights for old Bugs...at way cheaper prices that Performance Products. Something like under $100 for the pair, and they look identical to the PP repros, probably the same pieces....

Of course we all know that any mention of the word Porsche justifies an added parts price premium!

Haven't dealt with them, but they may have the bulbs you need.

That is a much better mount than factory (gasp go the purists). Excellent job, very clean, and no hacking required. You should market them.
