An interesting side note: one of the R Gruppe cars was in the "40 years of 911s" parade at Rennsport ..... a white coupe from Tenessee. Everyone is going along all nice and proper (and slow) when the R Gruppe car slows before the hairpin, lets the cars in front get ahead a bit and then just NAILS it out of the hairpin ..... sport muffler at full song .... and to the cheers of the crowd. He did us proud!

A few more details on the RGruppe at Laguna Seca, we'll have tickets for sale at the welcome party on Friday evening at the Hyatt. We have a special rate, 2 day tickets 30.00 each plus
a corral pass for 10.00. If you only plan on attending Saturday, tickets are 15.00. The corral pass is good for the weekend and gets you some parade laps on Sunday at noon, if time allows 3 laps or so.
On Saturday there are "Fan Laps" at lunch time, 10.00 each, anybody can participate in those but you would have to buy them yourself. Your RGruppe corral pass will get you on the track Sunday for free. Our corral will be on vendor island, a great place to watch the races and plenty of good parking.
Try not to miss the drifting events, they will be incredible. Sideways around turns 2 and 3, winner takes all prize of 10K.
Should be fun. Bobby Allison will be around all afternoon on Saturday and will be driving one of his old Cup cars (Winston that is). Two full run groups of Porsches both days, some pretty amazing cars are scheduled to be there.
The weather today here in Monterey hit 92, next weekend should be warm and sunny, no rain in sight.
    See you here in Monterey.

92 !! I was bitchen because it was 85 in Daytona. Heck, I'll take it. When the plane landed in Vermont sunday night, it was snowing so hard I couldn't see the wing tip!! And it's almost May 1st !
The good weather will be really welcome after last years chilling rain.

I probably should have been more specific, yesterday the coast hit 92, inland it was 104. The track hit 100. We should be cooling down today and the rest of the week with another warm-up by the weekend. Not quite as hot as yesterday but prepare
for some nice warm temps. We're making up for last year plus some....
Can't wait for you guys to roll into town.

Thought I'd replace the scratched up rear window in the 73 just in time for the RGruppe meet, got new rubber and trim, removed the old window with no problem but after 4 hours gave up on
putting the new one in (grrrrrrr..). I've got a friend coming over tomorrow morning to help with the re-install.
