Very interesting. I hope it can match the successes of the past, and surpass Audi.

Interesting indeed. More so from the sibling rivalry standpoint under VW, imo. Will be interesting to see this shake out as it draws closer.
I think as far as VW go, they can promote diesel with Audi, Hybrid with Porsche and Turbo petrol with the Polo in WRC.
Would love to see Porsche win outright again!

Still looking for 1st Edition Carrera RS book #358.
Life is way too short to drive boring cars.
Right, I meant surpass Audi's current dominance. They will have to start from pretty much nothing and work their way to the top, surpassing Audi's performance. They still have a few years before they have to worry about Audi beating their record for wins. Audi sure got them quicker, though!

Audi didn't have much in the way of serious opposition at Le Mans for most of the eight years before Peugeot Sport showed back up in 2007. Back when Piech started pushing Porsches toward the front for overall wins (starting in 1968) they had to race against the likes of JWA-Ford and SEFAC-Ferrari. Much stiffer opposition, so a difficult comparison to make.
I'm wondering if Audi won't move over to Formula 1 and revive the "Auto Union silber-pfeil" tradition in grand prix racing. There have been rumors to that effect floating around for some time.
