    Because it's in Sheridan, Wyoming.

...and that is a serious answer.

So many have tried to buy from that guy and so few have succeeded, it goes back years. Lots of good stories.

I met John at the LA Lit meet/ Swap weekend... nice guy. I then met him again about 2 weeks ago at a friend of mine's restoration shop where John had stopped by to drop off a part (I was visiting from out of town). Had a nice conversation with John.

I know there have been a lot of stories. But... I had great conversations with him on these two occasions. He was supplying a part to a close friend of mine's restoration shop where John is obviously very welcome and has a good relationship.

    Just my .02 YMMV....

I will add that a friend of mine sold him a '67S project and had a good transaction experience. He does own quite a few cars and has a history of posting cars for sale and not being ready to let go or close the sale. I have spoken with him and he seems to be a nice person and was at no time rude. I was interested in buying a few cars and he could not get to the point to commit to the sale. Others have had the same experience, this does not make him a bad person, just someone who cannot let the deal close.

I was interested is a few early cars he had for sale on SAMBA. I went back and forth with him with a few emails and couldn't get a straight answer out of him. He probably is a nice guy, but needs to work on his salesmanship skills.

I have a few personal stories. None of which ended well. I have many emails from him that are......less than polite. He also emails me out of the blue with taunts and the like about all of his cars, all of the stuff he is selling and buying, how important he is and how unimportant I am. I guess he provides a different persona face to face. He has had at least 3 or 4 IDs banned on Pelican and has had multiple EBay IDs he has gone through because of bad feedback.

He does frequent this board.. User id here is alekzandr.
