Thread: Might have been asked before. Longhood Database?

Lightbulb Might have been asked before. Longhood Database?

    Sorry if I missed it.

But why does this Forum not have a 1966-73 Porsche 911 database? It would take work and it would take time, but many people on here find cars. Just submit the information you find on Evil Bay, private owners or dealers, or your own ride.

We ask question like how many are left of a certain color? Or model? We know how many US models were build, we know the VIN number and engine sequence, we just do not know color made or interiors made (somewhere I read a person knew the per cent of colors, but not documented), among other stuff, it would flush out what is a good example of whats left in the fleet. I would not be surprise if half the cars are no
longer road worthy, or just no longer around in rust or pieces.

For example the data base would start with the Model Year, Model Type, engine number, transmission number, body color, interior color, modifications, etc.

Someone with good graphic and charting skills could put this together easy.

Thanks, your thoughts or ideas welcomed.

There is an official Registry for this forum. Paying members get an updated one every year in pdf form. It has some good data on the cars, including VIN and engine numbers. There are enthusiasts on this site that track info on their own as well.

    Thanks

Ok, I did not know, 8000 use the board and only 1000 pay?

I see, will look into membership, thanks for reply.

Question: Does the excel spread sheet just list members cars or any and all cars submitted?

Chuck - What about giving paid members all access and restricting non-payers to lower service levels or raise the price of items in the boutique with membership discounts for product and services? I didn't realize that there was such a disproportionate ratio. I AM NOT COMPLAINING but last years dues were raised so if we had higher paid dues ratio then it would even out the costs for all.

    For the record - I am a dues paying-card-carrying-t-shirt wearing-member.

    Cheers - David
