elevenparts.com have a nice looking fiberglass reproduction tank and I believe I recall an ad here somewhere recently for an original plastic tank- you should be able to find it. Good luck!

    Marek,
Please keep us posted on this excellent news.
If the tanks are not stupid money,I would be very interested.

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

Just a little further info on the tip from Marek.
I rang my local Porsche parts contact who said there was a recent new part number for the '72/'73 85 L plastic gas tank.
Any other info was not yet to hand but he will keep me informed.
BTW,Hugh H has had his plastic tank in his '73 since new and I believe its still going strong whereas the one I had in mine disgraced itself comprehensively twice, once in my garage and the final time in my mechanics workshop.
Tom - I sincerely hope that technology and materials have advanced somewhat since late 1971 to make a safer and more durable product.
How long have they had plastic tanks in the current 911s - since the 964 ?
Regardless of our squawking about the projected price of these parts, they are still a significant enhancement to our pet projects and the price will be largely forgotten in 10 years time.
Lets all just hold our breath, now .....

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

Dennis you can bet close to $5k downunder based on markup on other parts v rest of world if $3500 is on the mark. Still plenty will buy them if the HAVE to have them
