Bucket seats. They have this reference number: 901521001/41. Are they something special or relevant?

I would guess a early complete seat part number.

The closest I can find are

    901 521 001 27 (vinyl , LL/L , 1968 - on
    901 521 001 50 (Leather , LL /L , 1967 and earlier , after a certain serial numbers)

This is from the 2010 PET , so it is probably missing some part numbers .

Cool looking seats, but like nothing I've ever seen in a Porsche. What were they removed from, and where is the part number located?

    Seat police needed.

I did not see , or realise , there was a photo. Obviously not standard recaro early porsche type seats. However as you can see that part number is very similar to early complete seat part numbers.

I do not know what to tell you , never seen any similar that I remember.

    Do you have more pictures?
They look a bit like BFTorino Silverstone or Cobra Classic RS seats but don't match exactly.

The shape of the side bolsters & the curve at the (lower) back of the seat seem to suggest Recaros, which, as Raj suggests, have been incorrectly recovered.

Do you have any shots of the bottom of the seats ?

The part number given corresponds to the 65-69 PET Recaro bucket seat, shown below.
I believe your seats to be recovers of this seat.
