No not '70, but '72. Our own Dave C helped get this one out of a barn in OH.

So that's where this car ended up. I know EXACTLY where that car is! And was just there a week ago. I was wondering what was lurking behind those shed doors...

    for posterity:

    VIN # 302274
    Engine # 902392
    Polo Red 6602

302274 was picked up at the Porsche Factory on September 8th 1965 by a US Serviceman and brought back to the States. The car was driven only 30,400 miles and parked (in 1970!) to fix some minor rust on the front fenders. The work was never completed and the Porsche sat in the same barn untouched until rescued after 41 years - this September (2011).

Dave posted this find on his blog back in Oct 2010, so I do not like the inferred time line in the eBay ad. For a 1966, I think the BIN price is very optimistic.

c_INQ5521 3.jpgThat is funny, my car was just one car behind this one in the factory. I own 302275. It has just been restored completely and is completely matching numbers. Prices are going up for 1965 cars and they were also sold for big money the last months.

    Erik,
Nice looking car. Perhaps you can start a new thread on your find, restoration and enthusiasm for it. I for one would like to read it!
