    problem

    Hello,

    I bought a 911 2.4s a few weeks ago.
There is a noise when I accelerate and turn left or right. It doesnt do that when I accelerate straight ahead...
    That's very strange...no?
The noise doesn't come from the engine.
First I thought it was the differential, but checked that today and it wasn't, I think...
    What else could it be?

    Anyone?

Sounds like rear wheel bearings... tick-tick or squeals?

This reminds me of when I bought my 2.4 T Coupe...everytime I turned left there was a thud coming from the rear of the car. Once I replaced the original style steel trailing arms with later model aluminum trailing arms the thud was gone.
    Cheers!

Raise the rear of the car, grab each wheel by the outer edge and try to rock it back and forth. If you get any play, the bearing is bad and it may be the source of your noise. Hard to diagnose with your description so start eliminating possible culprits.

Thanks for the quick answers and reaction.

Front wheel bearings were replaced and are new. That's what I thought first too, but eliminate that.
It is a heavy tick-tick noise only when turning left or right and accelerating, leading me to the sper differential.
When I lift the car and turn one rear wheel in a direction the other wheel does the same thing, so ...
No play on the rear wheels.
    No sway bar.
Just normal original tires and wheels.

My mechanic thinks it is the oil in the gearbox.
He says I should use low slip oil for differential gearboxes.

    Anyone familiar with this?
