The round Durant mirrors were/are not 'handed' - ie the mirror can be used on left or right side.

Incidentally they're stainless steel, not chrome.

You meant the original side mirroe is chrome but the one that sell on pelicans is stainless steel

No - both the originals & the repros are/were stainless steel.

Many people mis-use the word 'chrome' - for example the exterior trim on early 911's is often referred to as 'chrome' when (with the exception of the swb [& lwb Targa] door window frames) in fact it's anodised aluminium ...

    Nammon,

Don't forget that the mirrors are asymetrically positioned - different locations on the door for left and right sides, and dependent on RHD v LHS so the driver's view is not obscured by the A window frame extrusion.

The "driver" side location is further forward on the door where the forward/front curve begins (there's two divots on the inside as drill points/guides). The "passenger" side mirror sits where the A pillar window is.

    Cheers

Indeed I was pleased to find my kardex did not note a passenger mirror on my car and I have subsequently deleted it
