Thread: FS: @2Shores - 69S

  1. #41
I am pretty sure this 69S passed through AAOC last year right after purchase to address some details for the new owner. For example, the po had installed new synthetic material carpet, not German wool carpeting, and that was on the long list of easy fixes to address. Another issue were the front seats that had been freshly re-upholstered but the pads were too puffy and the the bottoms did not have the pleat properly tied down.As I recall it had a five bar engine lid grill not a three bar. It is indeed a very nice car but a couple of details were just incorrect. No big deal at all to get a lwb S dead nuts from a starting point that good. Once the body and paint are done to a high level like this one and it has a matching nbrs drivetrain the rest just takes a little time and money.

Just a correction, the current car on offer is an E -- 9113200931 -- and has been around the block some. Search VIN here for more.

Indeed. Happy to see this. Hopefully the new owner will chime in on his purchase.

    Hi Guys,
I'd like to chime in here if I may. My name is Ron Barnaba and for those of you that have been around Porsche for some time may know me. I have been with Porsche for 44 years when June 2014 rolls around this year and up untill April 1,2013 I was partner and General Manager of Napleton Porsche in Westmont,IL. I was a Porsche tech in 1970 {I still consider myself a tech} and remember doing pre-delivery services on new 1970 Porsches...how cool is that! I started the "Pirelli Cayman Interseries" in 2009 and finally won {30 years trying} the 24 Hours of Daytona last year with a Cayman in the GX class. I have since semi-retired and have moved my office to our Napleton Aston Martin dealership just up the street from Napleton Porsche. I thought since I have many connections and have sold thousands of Porsches over the years, I'd start chapter two in my Porsche career chasing down REAL Porsches and have some fun while doing it.
With all this being said,I have been lucky enough to find some really good early 911's and bring them up to the right configurations and specs...and I'm doing most the work myself which makes it even more fun.
The 1969 "S" that started this thread did need some details completed as stated by the members here to make it right..... which I did with no expense spared. It was a terriffic car and I was sorry to see it go.
If you would like to contact me to talk Porsche, racing or whatever, I can be reached at the dealers 630 960 2000 or ron@napleton.com
I would also like to thank the community for this great website and all the input that is contributed everyday...!!! I trully enjoy reading all the posts.

    Ron
