    1969 Dates of completion

I'm working on a problem, and need the help of the community. I don't care if you see this post years later, please add whatever info you have.
The problem is essentially: when did 1969 model year production commence, and how fast were they producing cars to the end of the 1968 calendar year?
The background is this: for the 1969 model year the body changed, transitioning from the SWB to the LWB; the factory made prototypes in the 32001x series to evaluate the long wheel base to be used from 1969 onwards and later the surviving bodies were renumbered with proper 1969 VIN's (So far three such cars are known to have been renumbered, and two are in known hands. 320010 became 911S 119300001, 320011 became 911S 119300002, 320012 became 911E 119200001.); some of the Kardex information suggests that some of the early cars with VIN #'s less than 10 were delivered to the testing department in October of 1968. Surely the prototypes were produced well before series production began, and usually the new model year production began in August. The data that I have is sparse, but suggests that 1969 MY production was slow during 1968 calendar year.
What I need is to gather information from Kardex and COA that gives the 'date of completion' so that I may compile a chart of VIN & date of completion, and thus gain some understanding of the factory output during 1968. For the purposes of this research, information on late production 1968 models would also be useful. Even dates of sale or delivery might help. Thanks.

    Davep,
Can you share your data points too?

This is an area of interest for me as well, and yes, it is puzzling. Seems like S production may have started earlier, which may make sense, as they are supposedly all factory chassis cars and not farmed out.

A few of the data points I have from kardexes/CoAs:

    T Coupe
    119100008 - 10/2/68
    119100148 - 1/30/69
    119120276 - 12/12/68 (??)

    E Targa
    119210114 - 10/11/68

    S Coupe
119300009 - won M de la Route on 8/24/68, suggesting a very early build
    119300085 - 9/20/68
    119300761 - 2/13/69

Dave I am kind of convinced that from MY69 on the Kardex only shows the sale date, the completion date is not longer filed (see attachment, a very attractive kardex ).

Yes, I will post my data in a short while, once I get it properly organized. Can you email me the source for 119120276; it does seem to be a little late. Note that we have both Porsche coupe & Targa plus Karmann coupe body shells. Data for both 911 & 912 will be required.
Yes, the format of the Kardex changed for 1969. Also it seems that they did not use consistent date formats (I think I have found both day/month/year and month/day/year examples). 119310343 has an impressive set of options, thanks so much.

What are these various dates signifying, i.e. the 1,2 and 3 in red on the Kardex example? Which one is the completion date, the last number?

The E registry has a number of early 1969 built in mid year 1968 911's for your review.

1: Rechnungs.Dat: Rechnungsdatum: Date of Invoice
    2: Abnahmebesch.: "Pick-up" file created
3: angewiesen am: informed on (date)

    As beh911 stated
-2 & 3 concern the ship/pick up date (at importer or factory delivered by truck) as well as later warranty repairs
-1 concern the date of invoice.

    As Richard stated
I cannot see any build date, this 69 document register the dealer info as well as delivery details as invoiced to client.

FYI, In 1992 on one of my visits to the factury I picked up my build info on my 1969E 911, they attached this data sheet with the build info.
