Thread: Factory Sports Pack for 69t

    Factory Sports Pack for 69t

    Hello, need your expertise.

Currently asked for another another Letter of Origin as it had a few mistakes on it, firstly the gearbox said manual but it was a sporto, the second mistake I thought was a Sports Pack. After speaking to porsche GB
They've advised it did come supplied with a Sports Pack, this was confirmed by the factory.

Reading various data on sports packs it states they came separate and would need to be installed by an engineer, im still waiting for the factory to provide proof of code reference number but would like to know if the code would be stated on the Kardex or on a separate document.

Is there anybody out there who's car has a sports pack and what does the documentation look like from Porsche.

    Thanks, lee

    Lee,

I'm pretty new to this, and definitely not a specialist, but I was searching for Barry Williams' old car a while ago, which was a rare '68 911T and was equipped with a factory installed ''Sport kit 2''....

Can it be that it's the same as a ''Sports pack"..?

    Hello,
Thanks for the reply, my car certainly has no Roll bars but a think a foot rest, does this car mention anything on the cardex about a sport pack option or is it listed elsewhere?

    Thanks for your help,

    Lee

I will be pleasantly surprised if this is not some sort of translation or communication error regarding your Certificate. Sport Kit I and II are known to be for SWB cars, and 'pack' would be a first time term for something new.

    Definitely keep us posted

The dead pedal was not part of sport kit. It was part of rally kit.

There should be a few tells if your car was equipped with the sport kit. Off the top of my head things that might still be in place are 34mm venturis and an oil catch can or at least the mounting brackets on the engine side of the rear seats, right hand side looking into the engine bay.

Chances are the translation errors have the sportomatic option (they told you manual right) transposed as sport pack. It seems unlikely that someone would order a sporto T and add the sport kit but no other options.

I know what your all saying and a mix up with sporto and sports pack would make sense, what's getting on my nerves is I've pointed out the problems but they still persist in saying it has one,
I've asked for proof and what it actually is...... either way I'm sure i will get it sorted and the COA LOO will finally be correct,

seems to me the factory have their own internal problems with early car details.

    thanks for your time.

Wouldn't count on them getting COA correct... still battling 2.7 RS COA after 7 months. I'm thinking much of the record keeping was done after lunch back in the day.

BTW: Opinions of value knock over converting sporto car to 5 speed? I'll start a new thread on this. I think it's a great topic for discussion.

    Hello all,

Finally some feedback and proving to be a challenge.

Porsche GB have said they have spoken to the factory and the sports pack was ordered new with the car but was not supplied, it was not possible because there was no tooling for a sports pack for a sporto-matic.

Porsche GB are going to provide a letter stating this and Ive asked for the sports pack reference code so I can see what
Was originally ordered, I also asked again if they had any idea what 9922 special interior included but was told they had nothing archived, I'm wondering if the front seats were ordered in black leather as most of my interior looks original so maybe they were ordered in leather and not leatherette?

Your thoughts regarding either would be a great help,

    Lee

    Hi Lee,

are you sure the option code is 9922? I thought that option codes went to 95XX

Maybe there's a typo somewhere? Does you car have a radio?

    Hello,

Kardex definitely says 9922, also seen on another car recently with same number, has no radio present, what do you mean the codes went to 95XX ?

    Thanks Lee
