FS: 1973 911S Metallic gold coupe at a farm auction, $50K opening bid

Auction is on May 5 in Burwell, Nebraska

Here is the thread where a local guy is discussing its condition, and his shock at the opening price. It should sell at this price or higher, no?

Ok, just catching up, a lit late to the conversation, but discussed as well starting here on '911S Cars for Sale' thread:

This should be interesting; my bet is the auction house. Who else but a farm auction company would think it's a V-6?
The ebay listing does state "third party".

I think the seller realized what this car might be worth and doesn’t want to risk disappointing bids at the local auction…

I don't think the seller has anything to do with this. It's someone trying to jump in the middle and make a few bucks without actually putting any of their money on the table and then I think realizing that it was a misguided way of doing it.

The phone number listed is not the owners number or a Central Ne. Number as we only have 2 area codes 308 and 402 she is in 308!
I am considering calling her back as well as the auctioneer!
