    no power to horns

So, new horns were working but one of the mounts I made broke. Made an indestructible mount, mounted the horns but now they don't work. WTF. I hear a relay click but no volts to the horns. Checked the front fuse box and there is no fuse labeled horn or any blown fuses. Would not think the horn fuse would be in the back.
    Suggestions from the masters?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Theres also a relay....but I'd bet when your non-indestructible mount broke, the horn shorted and blew the fuse.

so which fuse protects the horns? I do not see horns listed on the inside of the fuse box covers.

Exactly, I don't see a fuse for the horns. I can hear the relay clicking.

Did you try swapping the horn relay with one that is known to be in working condition?

Original ones are old and new ones are made in China...

nope, not 100% sure where the relay is. I think it's the black thing under/infront of the fuse panel. Looks like a PITA to mess with. I hear it clicking so likely need to check the points or replace the wires. Uuugg. seems like the life expectancy of electrical components (wire) is 40 years as I have had to replace much of it lately.

It's easy to replace and accessible as well. It should be the lower one and it's probably black. Down by your front left battery

    Thanks Beh911.

My car does not have those 4 switches (relays) in the front. just one random one that is covered in rubber and not really mounted except for a rubber nipple that sticks in a hole. Must be the horn relay? There are a couple in the back but that would not make sense. I guess I need to cut the bubber off and see how it's connected and if i can get the cover off or make a simple replacement.

supprised there is no fuse for the horn.

Do you still have a good ground for the horn after replacing the mount?

There are two wires that go to the horns so ground should not matter. Only had to make a mount for one horn. The other is still solidly in place and I did not touch it. But, yes both mounts have solid grounds.

ejboyd5 what year is your car? Looks cool. what color is that?
