    MFI Pump identification help needed

So I have a MFI pump that is unusual. Pump was purchased from Porsche dealership as a spare for a RS circa 1995. Has correct part # tag but an Mag. Body (4 70 cast date). I have seen a few posts where some of the early RS pumps were mag not aluminum body and Bosch was building Remanufactured pumps until 2005. Any care to share some experience or insight. I have pump for sale on ebay and I don't want to misrepresent part.

Phil sent me the pump for inspection. What I found was a #46 space cam (2.2S) along with the early flyweights as should be. So the regulator is a EP/RLA 1/28R inside & out except for the ID plate. The pump has the early plungers #030 (left side) and the #004 (right side) as all the early 2.0 to 2.2 pumps have. The pump should have the ID plate 6 KL 60/120 R2 for a 2.2S. The MFI pump is NOS inside & out.

Agreed. Still a great and rare pump to have in NOS condition. Should still have considerable value.
Great photos Mark. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for sharing all of this info and pictures. I love to see the insides of these pumps.

It makes you wonder how the pump could have been given the wrong ID plate in the first place.

It seems to be a very deliberate task, mounting that ID plate...

Not what I expected but at least we know what's inside it. It's possible it's been tweaked to flow like an RS pump should. I think Mark will check.
