Thread: best Porsche model brand?

    best Porsche model brand?

I'd like to get some nice small scale Porsche models for my son- I know *nothing* about these so I wanted to know what the best/most accurate brand is out there. Looking for a brand that makes a really nice Carrera RS, early 70s 911s, Speedster, etc. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Marco

    Starting him early, eh Marco?

AutoArt, Minichamps and Kyosho all produce very nice diecasts for $70-120... if he's really young, SunStar, Maistos and Buragos don't have the same level of finish or detail but are cheap enough to use as toys. Depending on scale of course, 1:43 or 1:18? The best 1:18 early 911 is the '64 by CMC. Amazing detail but 3X the $$ of the first three brands. Schuco's new Speedster is pretty sweet but isn't inexpensive... the Kyosho is nearly as good.

    These are very nice: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINICHAMPS-1...item4ab5506fb5

Thanks very much gents! Very helpful- will take a gander at these. Yes, Russ- starting him VERY early! While the smaller ones will be great as toys since he is young, I'd also like to get something nice to display in his room.

Really young? There's always the slippery slope of Hotwheels or Matchbox... you'll be hooked on vintage before you know it.
