    Agreed 100%.
Why on earth change that great color when it has been completely torn down?

I have a friend who would buy that car in the next 10 minutes for asking price if was the original color. Why Retail Red? That's a shame. GLWS, nice looking car.

    John,
"Retail Red" (India Red, Guards Red) should not be confused with Bahia Red which is truly one of Porsche's best and rarest colors. I color changed a Sepia Brown 73 S Targa to Bahia Red 20 years ago but that's a horse of a different color. Pastel Blue is one of those colors that buyer's will pay a premium for. Sepia is one of those colors that people simply tolerate.

Someone obviously wanted what they wanted and will now pay for that expensive paint job twice.

    And...
    Lesson 1 is now complete.

    Class, what is that lesson?

Don't list your car for sale on this site unless you are ready for the above onslaught.

    Here's an idea:

Maybe he painted it red because he liked the color!

    Disclaimer:
My car was custom ordered from the factory in red. My friend, the original owner, wanted to match the factory prepared cars that were red in the era.

Thanks for that Frank. I have a '72S Bahia Red, near perfect car, but it's always kind of 'passed over' BECAUSE it's red....Didn't know Bahia was a rare color, it CERTAINLY is a nice one....

Agreed. IMO, Bahia Red is a very interesting and beautiful color. In bright direct sunlight it shows off it's orange hue while in the shade it appears more red. I considered changing the color of my car when it was redone last year, but finally decided to stick with the original Bahia Red done in single stage Glasurit...and I could not more pleased with the final results!
    Cheers!
