    Free advice requires pictures...

Seriously though, condition is key to assess value, ownership story aside. Hope it works out for you

    better description with pictures:

two owners from new, CoA present, matching numbers, original 5-speed transmission and dealer-installed A/C. 74k miles but no records to verify. Car is completely solid and free of rust, no signs of collisions. Very original car with one repaint in its original colors (done in early 1980s). All original interior including headliner, seats, door panels, carpeting etc. Original polished Fuchs wheels with new tires. Original tools, jack, spare wheel and tire. Owners manual and maintenance book in original pouch. Undercarriage totally original and rust free and undamaged. All chrome and glass are original except windshield. Recent thorough service (including gas tank flush/clean, new fuel pump, belts/hoses and battery).

I am aware that is not a correct side view mirror.

thank you in advance for your advice and help. Happy Thanksgiving.

Signal Orange coupe! Very nice. Have you driven it yet? Seems like a reasonable price in this market. If you don't buy it someone else will. There is tremendous interest in these if you already didn't know.

It does appear to be a very nice car. However, for 120K I would have expected sport seats. I would save 15K and buy Raj's 69S instead.

Alternatively, I would look very hard at finding a '74, '75, or '76 2.7L MFI ROW Carrera. Once above the 100K mark there are a number of interesting options.

    Good luck.

I'm surprised that you guys are so willing to cast a Yes vote so quickly! Consider that an engine rebuild including MFI freshening is an easy 15-20k and possibly needs to be done if all original. Also, I would highly doubt that the quality of the previous repaint is close to the quality that we have become accustomed to. For me, the biggest deal breaker would be the dealer installed A/C. DPD/VPC aftermarket systems leave holes all over the bodies including a ginormous one in the forward, pass side bulkhead for the evap unit.

Do yourself a huge favor and get a proper inspection before you make a potentially painful decision.

Maybe one of the owners was a dealer? Notorious for not passing on records.

LMAO. All we need is the VIN and dissection will commence.
