Thread: Antenna location

    Antenna location

I need the placement for a non power antenna on a 69 Targa. I found the placement for a powered antenna on the right hand fender. Is it the same for non powered on the left hand fender or is it different? Fenders are off and being painted, so it would be nice to get it correct. Here is the doc I found for the right hand side. Anyone have the similar page for the non powered left hand side? Thanks for your help.

powered antenna were placed in the right side of the vehicle..cause there is room for it....non powered antenna were placed on the left hand side...logic being...since the dont retract automatically, they are less prone to vandellisim...cause they have to goaround the car when parked..and its easier for the driver to raise the antenna while in the car...

The location on the left (manual version) is not the same as the right side (automatic version)

I asked about this on the 912bbs and got some answers and went with approx. 89,5mm(115) and 267mm(410)(same measures as above posted pic from workshop manual but for left side)

    Hope this helps!

Check out the (sideways) picture in this thread as it has the a / b dimensions for the left hand side hole. I haven't seen it anywhere else:
