'73 E targa, yes another what's it worth?

Was looking for others opinions of the value of this car.

First off, I know this is useless without pictures. I will post some as soon as I get them.

I last saw this in person a few years ago, so I'm going from memory and recent discussions with the 80+ year old owner.
I'm not trying to steal it from him or low ball him either. He has an old insurance appraisal that he is basing his price on, I think his price is a little high, although I could be wrong so that's why I'm asking. (I value targas and sportomatics at a lower price, he feels it's worth as much as an "S" coupe with a 5 spd)

I am trying to negotiate a deal for this 911 for my wife.

    Quick summary:

    '73 E Targa with Sportomatic (4spd I think)

    13000 miles and original owner.

This is a local car (Edmonton AB) and stored in heated underground parking since new.

Options = driving lights and gas heater.

    Will update later, VIN 911321xxxx

Any opinions are appreciated, and no I will not currently forward the contact information until my deal falls thru.
    Thanks,

    Jon

    Here's a comp for you. 911E Targa with sportomatic, 1970 versus 1973:

If your 13,000 miles reference is not a typo and the car is in a condition commiserate with that low mileage, your seller might have interested buyers willing to pay a surprisingly high price

He is flat wrong about it being worth what a S is going for. I have and E but an S is an S. I miss read the mileage I thought it was 130,000.

If it has 13,000 actual miles and is in new condition it is going to be up there with the price of an S.

NOT a good comp considering the ebay seller. Daniel Schmitt has a VERY bad reputation.

Here's a few quick cell phone pics.

And yes this is actual 13257 miles, original owner with service records.

I also know the former dealer technician (my source for finding this car) that serviced it in the '70s - '90s.

It would appear to also have "S" trim, or was that standard on an "E"?
I've only owned a couple of "T"s and an "SC"

What a great find!! Very nice - she will clean up nicely.

IMO - The price of this car would be just below the S.
I'm now interested on how much is he asking since you mentioned it

    Hi Jon,

Yes, in general, I would agree with you about a Sporto Targa model being valued lower, but the super low mileage combined with the original ownership and records (back to the begining?) trumps the transmission draw back. Does this car have it's original paint still? Also, what is the mechanical condition of the car? If it has sat for many years that should be factored into the selling price in your favor. In the current market this is a very desirable early 911, even though it is a Targa.

Oh, this car also has another option, anodized AL wheel arch trim.
