    What's the latest on Oil?

Ok after searching numerous threads about oil for our 911 cars, I am more confused than ever. At the risk of muddying the waters even more on a morphing subject, I'll ask the question...What is the best oil for our cars that contain the needed additives. It seems the most common recent answers are Royal Purple and Brad Penn. Additionally, should we be using something different for break-in of freshly rebuilt motors and why? I'm not sure there is a clear cut answer, but hopefully we will know which oils are good for our cars and which ones are not...rather than trying to single out the best oil.

    Pandora's box indeed!

I got a horrible headache reading all the various opinions on the subject. To spare myself further pain and suffering, I've decided to simply follow this guy's advice and hope for the best: http://www.lnengineering.com/oil.html

I'm using the oil he recommends, which is claimed to be specifically formulated for air-cooled motors: http://www.lnengineering.com/joegibbsracingoils.html

No affiliation; I'm just a customer.

BRAD PENN for the last several years since the whole Kendall deceit... before that, Kendall GT1 for over 30 years...

With Brad Penn I'm hopefully getting as close to the old Kendall GT1 'green death' as I can get.

This is interesting as I do not know neither one nor the other. I use Motul 300v Competition 15w50. I use this oil for 2 years now, doing lot of trackways and sweet week ends, winter and summer.
    Cheers.

Depends on where you live and how you plan to drive your car...you must first consider ambient temperature and brands available...
