    R.I.P. Bruce Anderson

Also sad to hear that Bruce Anderson passed away yesterday too!
    Randy got the news first....

I'm very sad to inform this community of the passing of Bruce Anderson...

Former shop owner, mechanic, author, and long time Porsche authority for over 40 years ...

When I first got my 911 and couldn't find an answer to a question, I'd just call'm up... he was always there and more then willing to share the information he spent decades to learn...

    He will be greatly missed...

Too sad.One of the greats in my opinion.Bruce has alway been present in my PORSCHE conscience from the beginning,`92,`my first purchase. Have his 911 book as probably most do.Even emailed him a few times & always got a concise professional and gracious return. Like an old vintage Porsche, rare & valuable,NLA, he was great! My sincere condolences to his family...............

He's gonna leave a big vacancy. Not many had his knowledge of all things Porsche. R.I.P. Bruce.

I came in contact with Bruce in the early 90's when I read an article in Pano that he did on the aborted 1992 Carrera Cup series in the US. At the time I had purchased one of these cars wanting to put it back to full race spec and contacted Bruce who sent me a full series of photos he had taken during the build that proved very helpful. When he found out that I was working for Canon he asked if I could hook him up for the 24 hours at Daytona as Canon would provide all sorts of expensive equipment to photographers covering sporting events. I was happy to help and did so for many years to come until I left the company, I was glad to do this for a guy who did so much for all of us and me personally when re-converting my car.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

This is terrible news, I've known that he's been ill for some time and feared it might come to this (as it will to all of us) I've known Bruce since back in the eighties when we'd meet at the "War Bonnet Tech Sessions", and then Parade every year. And of course during my years as PCA tech advisor for early 911's and 914's. My condolences to his wife Stephanie. I don't know that any one person will be able to fill his shoes!

Exact same experience on my end with first purchase around the same time. He defined air cooled Porsche for me when I got into this hobby 20 years ago.

Available over email to me on multiple occasions and so enthusiastic about our cars.

    Deepest condolences

Sad news indeed. I spoke with a family member and a portion of his service will be at Laguna Seca. I hope you guys on the west coast can show up for this and let those loud pipes sing their sweet song
