    2.0S MY 69 or 2.4S MY 73

I have the chance to buy a nice 2.0S with MFI, very original, basically unrestored or a 2.4S in the same condition. Both are almost the same price. What would you choose? I do understand that the 2.4S engine has more torque and is stronger overall - had a 2.4S once. But then the 2.0S has probably a more special engine and many nice details all over. The 2.0S is more pretty in my eyes. The 2.0S is approx. 130 pounds lighter and the car is very rare. I would not drive too often, but driving should be real fun and I am looking for a solid investment. Thanks for your feedback!

Personally I would go for the '69S - in my opinion one of the most under-rated 911 models.

I much prefer the higher revving nature of the engine & the dog-leg gear change (&, along with the other '69 models, has so many unique one-year features) - plus everyone seems to go for the 2.4S.

Perhaps a tip of the hat to the '73 for being the last long hood car, however, the '69 2.0-S (9.9:1) is a pretty high strung engine that is the last of that breed as well.

Torque is wonderful thing and in the end the '73 will let you have your cake and eat it too.

The song of the 2.0 on the way to redline is sweeter than the 2.4.

    Couldn't go wrong with either.

I live too close to D.C. for an honest answer as I've only danced around the subject. My apologies.

    Do not re-elect me.

I think it is an easy choice - the 1969S, but only because of what you own already. You already have a 73RS so that covers the "last" and the torque and drivability side that the 2.4 may offer over the 2.0.

the 2.0 would be a great compliment and contrast to the RS, both very special cars in their own way.

if you did not have a 73 car already it would be much closer but i think i would go for the 69S if both were in similar condition

Thank you for the replies. You encouraged me to go for the 2.0S. Having owned a 2.4S before I know that the driving experience is not so much different from the 2.7RS. Then I just do love the look of the 2.0.

Will share pictures later. The color is tangerine. The car is well preserved, fully original with nice patina.
