Thread: Monroney Sticker

    Monroney Sticker

I've been pondering this a bit and discussed it with a couple of our esteemed colleagues. The window sticker aka "Monroney Sticker" is something that is readily available from sources for GM cars. We all know what the P+A (Porsche/Audi) stickers look like as well but you can't buy one. (Photoshop could be of some assistance with the right operator).

Does anyone have or have seen a pre P+A sticker? This is what I'm after.

Then there is the matter of coming up with the option codes and prices.

    Who is really bored?

    Best,

    Tom

Be very interested to see what you come up with, just curious. Especially if you do all the legwork

I would be interested, and I think a few others would as well here in the Austin area. I seem to recall someone attempting this a few years back, here or on the bird-site. I will see if I can search that out.

EDIT. It looks like a John Ellis of Charlottesville VA was working on this for SCs as recently as 2011. Had a draft done .

Pre P+A, they varied widely in appearance, based upon the distributor. Here are a few from 69:

Those are the ones I'm looking for. I agree that it's not a homogenous format as your examples clearly illustrate.

The prices for the car and options for each model year is going to be the next challenge.

    Thanks!

The original window sticker from my 912. I warned the sales guy to not let anyone put any dealer decals on the car. When we did the sale, he handed me the window sticker, rather than adhere it to the window.

Andy: Thanks for sharing. That may be the best preserved sticker I've ever seen on anything!

Looks like a "double strike" on the "k" in "lock". Anybody remember the IBM Selectric Typewriter? We had a few over the years.

    (Let's find some pre-69 examples)
