    Greasing of distributor

I just purchased a tube of Bosch distributor and do not know where in the distributor to apply it. Does anyone know how and where to apply the grease?

    Thanks,

    John

    John,

A very little bit of grease is applied to the vertical distributor shaft cam lobes where the breaker point arm contacts the cam lobe. That tube will last you a life time...

    Hope this helps

Like they said, just a small dab where the rubbing block of the points contacts the shaft. Oiling the felt pad at the top of the shaft, and making sure the springs and weights are moving freely is also a good idea.

... and saying a dab may be too much. The idea is to provide a film on the distributor lobes for the point set arm to slide across. Too much lube and it will flail all over your distributor and possibly the cap. -->Read: not good <---
