    1st Porsche

Mine wasn't a longhood, but I bet many of you guy's 1st Porsche was, so I figure this will be on topic fairly quickly.
Let's all share pics and stories of our 1st one.

Mine was 75 911S Targa I bought at 19, made payments! It quickly bankrupted me and within a couple of years I was back in a Jetta, but the disease had taken root, and while there is medicine, there is no cure...

Also, another early shot of Matt, me, and Jeremy "Bone" Jones, trying to figure out how to put a clutch in his SC.

I wish I had pics of my first Porsche...a 1970 914-6 with an original 43,000 miles that I bought for $8500 in 1975. That was a ton of dough for me back then. It was everything I had. I forgot a lot of the girls back then, but I never forgot that car. That led to my meeting of Topper who became a good friend.

The first Porsche I ever bought was an 83SC. Bought it when I was 24, in 1995. I went to the bank, borrowed 80% of the sale price of a 12 year old sports car, with virtually no credit. The payment was almost as much as my rent. But I had to have it.

It was an unusual color combo of Ruby Red on outside and dark interior. You usually see tan on the inside with this paint.

Sold it 10 years later for what I paid for it. I googled the VIN a while back and it looks like the car bounced around a bit and fell on hard times. Maybe it will return to its former glory some day.

    You always remember your 'first'

'55 speedster in 1964. 1495.00 from a VW used car lot. I had 700.00 saved up and borrowed the rest from my Dad. I paid him off in full with interest with the earnings from a summer job.

(the 'new alloys' were repops, the 'engine rebuild' was top end only at 54K, and obo was off the table by the time I got there... )

I grew up with early Porsches, 356, 911 etc. First ride in a car I can remember was in the back of a 356, with the seat back down so I could sit high enough to look over my mom's shoulder. My first 'own' Porsche was a virtually rust free '64 356 SC back in 1998. Paid 5500 bucks, I was 26 and had just moved to AZ. It was 'arrest me red' on black, car ran like a raped ape.

The guy I bought it from did not want it anymore, as he was looking for a track car for his hobby. Thought this would do the trick because it said 'Porsche' on it but it did not meet his expectations (duh). He bought a 944 to run on the track instead. Good for him .

I was cleaning house recently and found a file i had not seen in 20 years. It had old photos, old passpot and bill of sale for my first Porsche. Nov. 28, 1973, 1965 356 SC coupe, vin 222195. It was a white coupe with red leatherette and chrome wheels. Price was $2350. Great car, ran well and never ever let me down.

I bought my first Porsche 2 years ago after wanting one for 47 years. It's an 87 that I bought after seeing it online at Tim Holt's website. I figured I'd never get up to Philadelphia anytime soon; a week later, I got my nephew's wedding invitation in Philadelphia! I made an appt. to see the car, drove it, had a PPI done, and bought it.
