    69E Electrical Panel

    Hi Guys

I'm looking for a detailed picture of the engine electrical panel in a 69e (or 69s). I've searched the forum but couldn't find the exact correct item.

I didn't take the car apart, and the PO upgraded to a later system so I not sure what it's supposed to look like, which components that should be there, or what components are missing from mine.

    Thanks
    Darren

    Here you go.

The key search term for a 1969 electrical panel is "slow-acting relay"- another one year only part.

Thanks for the link 305065. I think I have most of the components indicated in the pictures on that thread, but mine appears somewhat different being an E. I have attached a photo here. I will aslo say for whatever its worth that there is a centrifical cutoff rotor in the distributor cap.

Could I get some help on identifying these components as well as what might be missing here or what is incorrect? I have drawn two red ovals where it look like something should go that appears to be missing.

    Thanks for the help
    Darren

The upper right circle in your picture is the mounting tab for the MFI fuel filter console. In other words, not electrical.

The circle below the voltage regulator is for some sort of intermediate unit that runs between the VR and the alternator. See this pic of my car (69S).

Also, your speed switch (the silver box with the black Bosch sticker) is more than likely shot. Take it off and shake it to see if you here any small parts rattling, or pry it open (carefully) and check the solder on all the components. These things are prone to failure but are not absolutely required to get the car running, just running as factory intended. People rebuild them for a small fee as well.

You should also familiarize yourself with SL35, the factory wiring diagram for our 69 cars. Found here:

    Hope this helps.
